THE MARKSISTS
Its that time of the year again when the results for the Class XII Board examinations are out and there is this frantic scramble for college admissions, joint entrance examinations, visas and tickets for the students going off abroad. There is also the occasional suicide by students who haven't been able to cope with expectations. The questions the... more...

Lord, I am a Doctor
This poem was inspired by an incident at a nursing home in the town where I live being attacked by a mob twice in a week. The excuse was the death of the patient who was apparently given the wrong drugs/treatment. Some doctors suffered the ignominy of being pushed and shoved and kicked (and naturally the substantial bill for the patients stay was n... more...

The Lack of Common Sense
The circus surrounding the now infamous Richard Gere - Shilpa Shetty kiss, the hounding of painter M.F Hussain and the appearance on TV of a slightly deranged girl who claimed to be Abhishek Bachchan's wife/partner, even as his wedding celebrations were in full swing, received a great deal of TV time and analysis(as did the wedding itself!!). I sho... more...

The Love Letter
Hi People, this is something that I had written and posted on another blog page and would like to share with you too. While the leap in communication technology has helped the world to shrink considerably, it has chewed a chunk out of what was an essential part of a love affair - the love letter. I still write letters occasionally, if only to see ho... more...

Dog Personalities
I can't ever remember a time in my life when we didn't have a dog(s) in the house. Not that we were restricted to dogs - we have had at various points of time cats, parrots, a monkey, an injured deer, rabbits, geese, ducks and a mynah. However, though others flitted through our lives, the dogs always stayed. I guess one of the fallouts of this expe... more...

Fix the Problem, not the Blame
This is a follow up to my last post in which I wrote about Sachin. I had said that poor ol' Greg, Dravid, Sachin and Sehwag were taking real stick as we crashed out of the world cup. Several ex-players, women in spaghetti strap blouses, your friendly neighbourhood doodhwala and any other sundry creatures have voiced their opinion on what should be ... more...

Thank you, Sachin!
It is pretty much amazing the way the country and the media has reacted to our crashing out of the World Cup. It must be pretty hard to be a member of the Indian team at the moment. The team and particularly Greg Chappel, Rahul Dravid, Sachin and Sehwag have come in for a lot of stick. I don't believe they deserve it and I have my reasons, but here... more...

TASTES
TASTES Hard rock is much too noisy ! Ghazals are so boring!! All lines that have been heard before and sometimes the eardrums have to suffer much more than they can take. Not so much the different types of music but the arguments of the two people engaged in this heated debate. The human mind is so complex that not even the best technology human or ...  more...

Everlasting love !!
On my trip to Home, something beautiful happened.I was sitting in the park pretty much seeing people passing by when this elderly couple caught my attention. They must be in odd 60s, but both of them had an inexplicable glow on their faces, an incomprehensible feeling of elation in their hearts, an indelible wish to posses youthful  and livelier s...  more...

Looking good
We all want to look good , but in our teenage due to hormonal changes , pollution , exam. stress ,often this seems virtually impossible to achieve. Ever You Wonder ………(Some stray thoughts…...
Why are they called stairs inside but steps outside? Why, any tool, when dropped, will roll to the least accessible corner?  If love is blind, how can we believe in love at first sight?  Why 'abbreviated' is such a long word? How important does a person have to be before they are considered assassinated instead of just murdered?  Why, when you change...  more...
